Steve is a University of Illinois graduate Civil Engineer with concentrations in structures and construction. He spent over two decades in on-site supervision and management in the construction industry. In 1991 he founded HomeSpec Corporation and has since been dedicated to serving the community with his experience and knowledge through providing home inspections & consulting with clients regarding building and construction issues. Steve has inspected over 10,000 homes and buildings in Central Illinois. He served on the Governors Advisory Board for Home Inspection for the State of Illinois and has served as an expert witness in numerous litigation cases.

In 2013 Jared was invited to join HomeSpec to learn the Home Inspection trade. After five years in the home inspection business Jared is now the owner and home inspector for HomeSpec Corp. His natural abilities in combination with his understanding and background in construction have proven to be a great foundation from which he has become an accomplished home inspector. He has successfully completed over 3000 hours of hands on field training as well as many hours of classroom instruction and testing. He has successfully passed the National Home Inspector Examination and has completed all requirements for and is licensed with the State of Illinois. Jared has completed many home inspections and has become a highly qualified and conscientious Home Inspector that you can be very comfortable with. He fully embraces our mission of serving and protecting the interests and needs of our clients.
